Sturdy, beautifully designed monitor stand
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is an exceptional product! I love products that are carefully and attractively designed like this - products that blend form and function in the perfect way.

Seems silly to get excited about a monitor stand? But I am delighted with this - possibly even more so than I am about the 2nd monitor I bought it for.

I have a 20" and a 22" monitors set up on it (though it could support larger, I'm sure because there is significant additional space on the support arms).

Configuration is very stable - this is a heavy duty product. But at the same time, the stand is very elegantly designed and of superior quality. Looks very polished and professional from every angle.

There is lots of flexibility to adjust arrangement of screens - much more than I anticipated given comments from some people. You can move screens up / down on main support bar and in / out on each support arm. I'm finding lots of room in both these directions.

As well, you can tilt monitors quite far on their individual connetors - much, much further than i could with the orginal stands the monitors came with. By tilt, I mean both side-to-side and up-and-down (or forward/back, however is the right way to say it).

And you can rotate each monitor 90 degrees or so if you want one or both monitors vertical (mine are both horizontal, but out of curiousity, I confirmed you can fully rotate both of them).

I found assembly also pretty easy, including the part about connecting both screens single-handedly which some people described as very difficult. I did not find it so. Everything went together very nicely - and demonstrated how cleanly designed this product is.

Note: I did not buy this product on Amazon because I did not see pictures for it. I bought instead at Newegg where they do have pictures and where product seems to be the most popular monitor stand they have (understandably so!). Prices were similar.

Recap: this is a great product! highly recommend it if you are in the market for a dual monitor stand.

Holds the monitors but doesn't adjust as easily as I would have liked
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
I purchased a dual-monitor stand so that I could have easy manuverability of the monitors when needed. I would have liked to flip around the second screen to show someone shows sitting on the other side of my desk, however unfortunetly this stand does not deliver. It will hold your monitors, but that's about it.

The stand is pretty bulky, not visually appealing, and falls short on being adjustable. Shifting one monitor typically means that the whole stand with move (along with the other monitor). Single hand maneuverability seems nearly impossible, you need to hold down the base to even begin adjusting the monitors.

If you need to set your monitors and leave them alone with them facing against a wall then perhaps this would be a good purchase (assuming the normal monitor stands wouldn't suffice. If you need something easily adjustable for an office then I suggest you pass on this item.

Balanced and sturdy
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I had doubts about this product since most monitor stands I saw were from another manufacturer and more expensive. I also had some questions about how I was going to mount my two 17" Dell monitors on this stand. I emailed the manufacturer before I made my purchase and my questions were answered within 24 hours.

The stand assembled with ease and the monitors mounted to the brackets easily. The stand appears balanced, sturdy and resistant to tipping. Each monitor has 4 USB ports so the cord clip on the center post (what I thought was a trivial addition) is actually very useful in taming potentially 14 cords

I am still in a parallel computer configuraion and will not know what additional problems, if any, may occur until I move this stand to its permanent location on my desk.

Works great, but be careful on setup
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Once it is assembled it is very easy to adjust. Very solid and holds my two 22" monitors without making me nervous that it will tip or otherwise drop them.

Assembly was straight-forward, but there are three very small hex screws (hex wrench is included). There aren't any extras. I dropped these multiple times while trying to screw them in. It took awhile to find one of them, which jeopardized the assembly. Once I got these in place assembly went smoothly.

Excellent Stand
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Sturdy, simple and very well made. I had a problem a few years ago with a Planar monitor that was a few days out of warranty and Planar refused to honor the warranty or offer any service. I thought I would never consider another Planar product again. After reading the reviews of this, and noting the price, I thought I would try this stand. With Amazon's easy and simple return policy, I figured I would give it a whirl. Turns out this stand is excellent, especially for the money. Very well made and simple - Installation and setup was a snap and took me all of 10 minutes. There are only a few pieces to put together and adjustment of the monitors was straightforward. It articulates in all directions so you shouldn't have any problems with height, swivel or angle.

I have an older 19" 4:3 LCD on one side and a 25" widescreen on the other and it works beautifully. It is even balanced well with these odd sized monitors. You don't have to use 2 monitors that are exactly the same size. I think they say you can use 2 24" monitors but you could use a 15 and maybe even a 27 or something........If you do have differently sized monitors, before you buy, you should download the PDF from Planar's web site and look at the center to center distance from the drawing that shows what width the stand will accept from side to side. Then just measure the center to edge distance on the back of both your monitors, add them together and then compare that to the drawing shown in the PDF.

Planar also makes a quad monitor stand that looks to be identical to this but only taller. If the quad stand will hold 4 monitors, then the dual stand is plenty sturdy as I can't see the quad being that much beefier - Looks like it is just a little taller to accomodate 2 more monitors.
